Summary: In a world where technology rules, and prosthetic bodies wlak the earth. There's someone who wants control, and the people who oppose him. And plus the man who may be the key to it all. All he had to do was go in, hack into the bureau's database and send the data back to HQ, it should have been a piece of cake. And he should have succeeded. He would have if he wasn't for the bosses damn pretty boy.
The three rushed their way up the second flight of stairs, no longer worrying about how much noise they were making. They were already found, and their was only one more floor to go. "Shit," Heechul exclaimed as he hit the floor, bullets already flying toward them. They had no other choice but to force there way through. Heechul took the lead, only his sharp shooting had kept them at bay, but he was running low on bullets. Kangin and Eeteuk took the back already abandoning their guns and using what they knew best.
Bullets screamed across the narrow space, filling it with shrieking supersonic death. The gloomy corridor was illuminated by blinding flashes as high-velocity ammunition struck metal support beams; where they hit concrete pillars they blasted fist-sized craters, releasing billowing clouds of choking dust which swam before the eyes and stuck fast to the back of the throat.
Heechul kept shooting, Eeteuk using his switchblade and Kangin his fists, snapping necks and breaking limbs along the way. The only sounds that filled their ears were bullets blood splatters and the thumps of bodies. At this point they no longer had time to worry if the people they were killing were human or not.
Finally the shooting had died down, and the three continued to make their way towards the 3rd floor.
"How much farther?" Eeteuk yelled up to Heechul.
"One more floor, the stairs should be just ahead."
"Well lets hurry up before we get caught again." Kangin said as he continued to run behind the others. Eye's darting everywhere in case of another attack. Suddenly gunshots rang out, and they were not Heechul's. They watched as a rather young looking young man descended the steps slowly, gun in hand.
"The three of you stop here." Donghae said as he fired off more shots. Shit, he's fast. Heechul thought as he hit the floor and rolled to the side. Eeteuk and Kangin got up and rushed toward Donghae's gunfire. They stopped, Donghae face to face with Eeteuk. Donghae's eyes widened.
"It's you." he whispered.
"Get out of the way. I don't want to hurt you." Eeteuk said.
"You don't want to hurt me? Well that's too bad for you." Donghae voiced as he quickly pulled out his gun once more. "Shit Eeteuk! Move!" Heechul yelled as he pulled out his gun and aimed it for the younger man in front of Eeteuk. Two gunshots rang out, one from Heechul and one from Donghae. Eeteuk fell to the ground gripping the side of his arm. Everything felt as if it was going in slow motion until Donghae dropped his gun and fell to the ground as well.
Kangin and Heechul ran over to Eeteuk and helped him to stand. "You alright Teuk?" Kangin asked as he placed his arm over his shoulders for support. "Yeah, I'm fine. It's just a scratch." He mumbled before continuing up the stairs. Donghae glowered up at him, gripping the side of his bleeding chest. 'I'm sorry.' Eeteuk mouthed to him, but Donghae did nothing but glare at the other.
"You really don't remember me Junsu?" Yoochun asked, his voice weary as he stared at the blank face of the other man. Junsu shook his head absently. "Junsu it's me! Yoochun! Chunnie! You have to remember!" This time he pleaded and struggled against the painful wires, ignoring the intense pain it caused him. Junsu stared at him a moment, tilting his head to the side as if he was trying to recall something.
"That's right, think Su. You have to remember me… remember us." Junsu tilted his head again.
"Yeah, Su… us. Can't you remember? What happened to you? Why are you here?"
"I-I've been here." He voiced softly.
"No, Su. You haven't, you were with me… once."
"With you?" Junsu repeated.
"Yes, we were together, you and me. Please try to remember Su. Remember us."
Yoochun watched helplessly as Junsu continued to stare at him. He could tell he was trying to remember something. He wanted to remember something. Come on Junsu, remember. Yoochun thought to himself as he watched the other mans brows furrow slightly then his eyes widened for a split second.
"Yoo--" Junsu began.
"Yes Junsu." His eyes widened with hope.
"Chun--nie…?" Junsu mumbled but then stopped abruptly. His vision became blurry, grabbing his head. "Uh- I can't. I have to go." He said. Yoochun watched helplessly again as Junsu rushed past him and out the other sliding door across the room. "Junsu!" he yelled, but the other didn't turn back. Yoochun sat there alone for while, his heart aching at the thought of Junsu. But at least he was left with the hope that he didn't completely forget.
"This is it," Heechul said as he stopped in front of a nondescript door, his semi-automatic ready in his hand as he placed his hand on the door's knob. Eeteuk and Kangin nodded to him, informing him they were ready. Heechul counted to three silently in his head before busting through the door.
The room was eerily quiet. The low hum of electronics made it even eerier with the greenish hue it had from numerous computer screens. Heechul finally noticed a limp figure sitting in a chair at the far end of the room.
"Yoochun!" Heechul yelled before running towards him. His two companions hurrying close behind. He knelt down in front of where Yoochun sat. "Yoochun?" he said quietly this time. Yoochun lifted his head slowly looking into Heechul's wide dark eyes.
"Yeah, it's me. You okay?"
Yoochun blinked a few times. "What the fuck have you gotten me into this time!"
"My bad man," Heechul smirked. "It's all actually Teuk's fault for not telling y-- OW!" He exclaimed after getting a swift kick in the back from Eeteuk.
"Sorry Yoochun." Eeteuk smiled at him sincerely.
"Nah, I'm pretty sure it's Heechul's fault anyway, It always is."
"HEY!…Fuck you," Heechul began as he stood up and moved behind him. "The hell man! What the fuck did that bastard do to you?" He shouted, observing the server burns surround the cords connecting to his cyber brain.
"That… that pains nothing right now." Yoochun said as he lowered his head. It's noting compared to ache in his heart.
"Hurry up Heechul," Kangin began. "We need to get out of here before were attacked again. We're not in very good condition right now."
Heechul nodded as he placed his hands gently on the hot rubber cords on Yoochun's neck. "This might hurt a little." Heechul began. Yoochun just shook his head. "Just get it over with." He mumbled. Heechul took a deep breath and proceeded to yank the cords. Yoochun grit his teeth and let out a low groan.
Eeteuk took out his switch blade to cut him free of his restraints, and Kangin put his arm over his shoulder. "How you feeling now? Can you walk?" Kangin asked. Yoochun smiled wearily a moment. "I fell fan-freaking-tastic…" He said sarcastically. "Thanks, I can walk." He said as he pushed himself away from Kangin and steadied himself on his feet.
"As soon as I get my strength back. I'm so kicking your ass Heechul." Yoochun began. "If I remember correctly, that asshole asked me if I knew a pretty little red-head with a sharp tongue. What the hell did you do now?"
Heechul smirked, "So he's looking for me huh?"
"Damn it!" Kangin yelled suddenly, taking hold of Eeteuk and Yoochun. "We have to get out of here now. People are headed this way."
"Shit! Come on, we have to be quick." Eeteuk said gesturing to Yoochun and Heechul as he rushed behind Kangin to the door. Yoochun followed close behind.
"Hey! Yoochun!" Heechul yelled, the three of them stopped and looked back at Heechul who was still standing in the same spot. "What the hell are you doing?" Eeteuk yelled to him. Heechul pulled out one of his semi-automatics and threw it to Yoochun.
"Here, take this. You'll need it."
"What the hell Heechul? What are you doing lets go!" Eeteuk yelled again.
"Go on without me. I'll catch up to you guys later. I have something to do." He smirked with a hand placed casually on his hip.
"Fuck! We have to go now Teuk!" Kangin yelled as he wrapped his arms around Eeteuk and dragged him our the door. "Wait! Heechul! Don't be stupid" Eeteuk yelled. "Come on Teuk, let's go." Kangin said calmly before looking back at Heechul. "You better hurry up and get you ass back to us." Kangin called back to Heechul. He nodded and response as he watched them leave through the door, and giving a reassuring wave to Yoochun. He wasn't leaving until he handled his business with that Yunho guy who caused Jaejoong so much pain.
"We shouldn’t have left him Kangin!" Eeteuk yelled as he sat in the passenger seat of the car. Kangin drove full speed, weaving in and out of passing cars incase anyone was on their tail. Kangin sighed.
"You know Heechul. He wouldn't have budged even if we forced him. When he's determined to do something he won't give up until it's done, you know that."
"Yeah, and you also know Yunho. You remember what he used to be like. He's probably ten times worse than that considering what he did to Jaejoong!" Eeteuk yelled back sharply.
"Exactly, actually I'm more worried for Yunho because of that."
"What do you mean?" Eeteuk asked.
"Heechul's determined to take out his anger on him for what he did to Jae. Can you imagine what he'd do? You know what he's like when someone messes with his the people close to him, you remember what he did to that guy who attacked Min."
Eeteuk sighed as he looked out the window. "But it's still Yunho we're talking about Kangin." He began, this time his voice a whole lot calmer with worry. "I'm still too fucking chicken to face him again." He gritted though his teeth, pounding his fist against the door. Kangin took hold of the others hand tightly.
"It's okay Teuk," he squeezed his hand reassuringly. "I wouldn't want to face him again either. You met that bastard too didn't you Yoochun?" He called back to the man sitting in the back seat. "Hey Yoochun?!" He called again when he received no response.
"Huh? Oh yeah… I met him." Yoochun said, unable to stop his growl at the thought of the man and Junsu.
"You feeling okay Yoochun?" Kangin asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine…"
"You don't sound like it." Eeteuk said, turning his attention to the man in the back seat. "Did he do something to you?"
Yoochun shook his head. "Nothing too serious. It's just that…" he paused for a moment before continuing. "I saw… him."
"You saw who?" Eeteuk asked gently.
"I saw… Junsu."
The security camera's came back online. Yunho watched the footage, seeing if he could get a glimpse of these intruders. The screen jumped suddenly, now seeing three men running across the lawn. He only saw their backs. Who are you? Yunho thought, absently biting down on his lip in concentration.
His eye's widened as one of them turned around to watch their back. Yunho paused the footage and eyed the figure. The tall thin man with light hair… Him. Yunho scowled to himself as he saw the face of Eeteuk; Eeteuk his former partner. "How dare he show his face here again!" Yunho yelled, slamming his hands down on his desk. Suddenly the door to his office was pushed open slowly, he heard a meek voice call out his name. "What is it!" He yelled viciously turning his direction to the door and see the startled expression of Junsu.
"S-sorry if I bothered you." Junsu apologized.
"Didn’t I tell you wait back at the lab!" he yelled back at him.
"I'm sorry, I just couldn’t stay there anymore."
Yunho sighed. "What do you want?" He tried to ask calmly but failed.
"I need to ask you something."
"What could you possibly need to question?" Yunho glared at the smaller man suspiciously. Surprised by his sudden curiosity."I just wanted to ask you…" Junsu began, fingering the hem of his shirt nervously. "I just wanted to ask… who I am, what I am? Yunho paused as he observed the others actions and then crossed the distance between them, gripping his chin his hand.
"What are you talking about? What makes you aske that?" Yunho growled.
"It's just that I've been having these… pictures in my head. And when I try to think about it, it hurts." Junsu explained. Yunho looked into his eyes. Memories? Yunho thought. What could have triggered them?
"Yunho, who am I really?"
"You're Junsu… nothing else. You'd do well to remember that and forget about those 'pictures' in you head. I don’t ever want to here you talk like this again do you understand me!" Yunho shouted, gripping the smaller mans jaw tighter.
"Y-yes Yunho… I'm sorry." Junsu apologized. But he knew he could never forget about that man and what he said to him, no matter how much it hurt.
Heechul's back was towards him now. He watched helplessly as his figure grew smaller and smaller into the distance. He tried to call his name, to tell him to come back. To tell him he needs him. But when he opened his mouth no words escaped him. He tried screaming but everything was mute around him. He wanted to chase him, but the more he ran, the farther he was away.
Heechul? Jaejoong thought as he opened his eyes slowly, awakened by the murmurs of voices outside of his room.
"W-where's Heechul?" He heard Changmin's quiet voice from outside the room. His eyes went wide. Please don't tell me… Jaejoong thought, hoping his first thought was wrong, that he heard wrong, that Heechul didn't come back.
"He stayed behind Min." This time Kangin's voice said calmly.
"What do you mean he stayed behind! You let him!" Changmin yelled, worry evident in his voice.
"Min, calm down. You have to believe in him. He promised he'll be back." Kangin tried to reason.
"He's going to be killed!" Changmin yelled louder this time.
Jaejoong pushed himself from the bed, no longer being strapped down by the leather straps. His head still felt dizzy and he still wasn't sure how well his condition was. But right now his pain was the last thing on his mind. The only thing he could think about was Heechul. He's going to confront Yunho… Shit! He thought. He should have known he would go do something reckless like that. Heechul still had no idea what Yunho was like. He had to go stop him, but that could also cause seeing Yunho again.
