Summary: In a world where technology rules, and prosthetic bodies wlak the earth. There's someone who wants control, and the people who oppose him. And plus the man who may be the key to it all. All he had to do was go in, hack into the bureau's database and send the data back to HQ, it should have been a piece of cake. And he should have succeeded. He would have if he wasn't for the bosses damn pretty boy.
"Have you disabled the security camera's?" Eeteuk asked, keeping his eyes on the armed guards outside the gate. Heechul leaned against the wall, his laptop opened against his chest as he typed. "Yeah," he began. "The camera's are still on but they wont be able to pick up our signal. But we only have one hour to get in and get out before we're detected again." He said as he finally closed his laptop, shoving it back into the tight pouch on his back. Eeteuk nodded, "That should be all the time we need. You guys ready?" Kangin and Heechul nodded. "Alright, lets start."
The three approached the two guards outside the gates. They raised their guns to met the intruders and expressed their programmed orders. Their voices monotonic, indicating they weren’t necessarily human. Just some AI trash that no one would miss. Heechul thought to himself as they continued to walk toward them. "I said don't move or well have to take action." Kangin and Heechul smirked to each other. "I'll let you two handle this." Kangin said to Eeteuk and Heechul.
The two smiled at each other before dashing forward toward the two armed men. Gun shots began to fire frantically in their direction, but they were too fast, and were no longer insight. The guards ceased their gunfire momentarily and looked at each other. Kangin smirked to himself, Eeteuk and Heechul were already behind the guards disabling them from their weapons. Eeteuk's switch blade at the curve of ones neck, and Heechul semi-automatic shoved under the others chin roughly.
With a click of the trigger and a flick of the wrist it was over.
Changmin was in a stressful condition. Worrying about Heechul and the others, and worrying about Jaejoong was not a pleasant feeling. Heechul still hasn't made any contact to him, which either means he's doing fine, or he's dead. As for Jaejoong, he was still unconscious and Changmin still had no idea what exactly was happening to him. But Eeteuk knew, somehow. And at this point he didn’t know which direction Jaejoong's condition could go.
H-Heechul?" Changmin heard Jaejoong whisper from his bed. He walked over to him.
"No Jae it's me, Changmin." He said, pushing his blond bangs away from his head.
"Changmin?" Jaejoong whispered, his eye's still closed. His head pounding, and disoriented. He tried to move but found his arms and legs were strapped done. A sense of fear begins to gather in his chest. A familiar fear, reminding him of those experiments, the pain, that touchier. He struggled against the straps again, groaning. He couldn't stand being strapped down anymore.
"Jae, calm down, your alright." Changmin said softly, holding his hands steady.
"Changmin, what happened to me?"
"How do you feel?"
"Why? What happened?"
"Are you still in pain?" Changmin asked. He wasn't sure if he should tell him just yet. He didn't think it would be good for his psyche. But Jaejoong continued to ask, he wanted to know what was going on.
"It's the chip in your head Jaejoong… it's destroying it's self."
Jaejoong's eyes grew wide. "What would happen to me if it does?"
Changmin shook his head. "I'm not sure. But I promise we are doing all we can to help you."
"He left with the others. They're going to ambush Jung Yunho's place."
Jaejoong tried to sit up. "They what? Changmin, they'll be killed! They don't know him like I do."
"Calm down Jae, we have to have faith in them. I'm sure they'll be fine." Changmin tried to smile reassuringly, but it was hard not being able to believe his own words. He pushed Jaejoong back down. "You need to get some rest Jae. This should help you." He said as he pulled out a syringe.
"But what if they don’t come back?" Jaejoong pleaded.
"Don’t worry about them right now. Your condition comes first okay?" Changmin said as he injected Jaejoong with the syringe. He nodded slightly before he closed his eyes and fell back into unconsciousness.
As the three climbed the steps their heavy feet should have echoed and reverberated in the narrow space. But there was no sound. They knew that making any sound could come at a very high price if they were caught. Especially being trapped in a stairwell, they were like sitting ducks. Eeteuk and Heechul lead, armed and ready with guns in their hands. Kangin followed behind keeping a look out for the rear.
They reached the top of the staircase and walked slowly down a empty corridor. Their backs up against the far wall. "There's an empty room just ahead." Eeteuk communicated to the other two through his cybercomm. "We'll stop there a moment so we can get Yoochun's location." The two nodded wordlessly and followed his lead.
Eeteuk wrapped his fingers around the corroding metal of the doorknob. He turned it and pushed it open, gun still ready and tight in his grip. The three rushed in to the empty room. It was simple. The walls were clean and white, nothing but a tables and a few chairs filled the room, Kangin closed the door behind them. Heechul immediately pulled out his laptop again.
"How much time do we have?" Kangin asked, his back against the door.
"About forty-five minutes."
"Then you better hurry the hell up."
"I'd go a lot faster if you's shut the fuck up." Heechul said venomously but not removing his eyes from the data on the screen. The layout of the building showed up, he searched the area for the familiar signal of Yoochun. But the building could be blocking it some how, Heechul kept searching.
"Shit," Kangin suddenly voiced through clenched teeth. Eeteuk turned to him and walked towards the door where Kangin had his ear pressed. "What is it?" Kangin furrowed his brow. "We're about to have company in oh say… thirty thee seconds." Eeteuk looked at Heechul.
"You better hurry up and find his location, I think we've been found."
Twenty eight seconds.
"Fuck," Heechul spat. "I almost have it, just give me a minute."
"We don't have a minute!"
"Get off my fucking ass! I'll find him!
"We don't have much more time left, Hurry up. Your in dead view if they bust in here." Kangin said backing away from the door with Eeteuk.
"Got it! Third floor, just above us." Heechul yelled quickly shoving his laptop back and pulling out his gun. The door flew open, gunshots rang out. Then another and another.
"Heechul!" Eeteuk yelled out. Firing his gun on the intruders as bullets flew by a little to close to his head.
"Teuk lookout!" Kangin screamed, tackling the thinner man to the floor as a bullet just barely skimmed the top of their heads. Kangin pulled out his gun and aimed. More bullets rang out, and then a thump. One was down but how many more?
Kangin and Eeteuk were now taking cover behind a fallen table as bullets flew over head. Eeteuk reloaded his gun quickly.
"Shit Kangin! What happened to Heechul?" Eeteuk yelled loudly over the barrage of gunfire overhead. Kangin shook his head. "I don't know. I lost track of him when the door burst open." Kangin said just as loud. Suddenly three consecutive shots were heard, different from the ones above head, and all firing seized. Kangin and Eeteuk looked over the tabled, as the dust cleared they saw Heechul already placing his two semi-automatics back at his sides.
"What the hell guys! This is hardly the time to be making out!" Heechul yelled glaring at the two hiding behind the table before he leapt over the bloody dead bodies and rushed out the door.
Eeteuk sighed, At least he's not dead. He thought as the two followed close behind.
"Donghae sir?" One of his men called to him as he stood against the wall.
"Yes, what is it?" He asked.
"We have intruders."
"Intruders? How many?"
"We think about three. And it seems they are making their way towards Mr. Jung."
"An assassination attempt?"
"Seems that way sir."
Donghae nodded. "We have to get him out of here." They rushed down the corridor back to where he had just left Yunho and Junsu and busted open the door. Yunho sat in his chair looking up at Junsu who sat next to him on the armrest.
"What's the meaning of this Donghae?" Yunho growled when he noticed the intrusion.
"I'm sorry sir but we have intruders, you need to get out of here as soon as possible."
"Intruders?" Yunho smirked. "What do they want?"
"I suspect they're coming after you sir. So if you would come with me, there's a helicopter waiting on the roof."
"Alright, but I'm not leaving just yet, I want to get a glimpse of these intruders." Yunho said as he stood from his seat and smiled at Junsu.
"But sir, that's too dangerous." Donghae pleaded.
"It should be fine, I'm quiet capable of handling myself, and besides, I have you." He smiled at Donghae and then turned his direction back to Junsu. "I need you to wait here for me Su, I'll be right back." He whispered to the shorter man. Junsu nodded as he watched Yunho turn to leave.
"Kibum here will escort you sir, I'll go try to deal with the intruders." Donghae said. And Yunho nodded as he left Donghae and made his way down the hall, Kibum following close behind.
The door closed and they were finally left alone. Junsu just sat in the chair Yunho had left staring down at the table. He still acted as if he didn't notice he was there. It was a painful sight to see, the man he used to love acting as is he didn’t know him.
"Junsu," Yoochun whispered, staring up at the other man. Junsu turned to him, his face a blank state of obliviousness.
"Do I… know you?"
